This is why we don’t want you to miss out on anything and see the mos beautiful beaches in Javea. Those beaches in which you with time would stop, in which the mountain and the crystal clear sea join together to form a beautiful landscape, those in which you forget about anyone else in the world and enjoy yourself… Sound good?
1. LA CALA DEL FRANCÉS (THE FRENCH MAN’S COVE)
We are going to let you on in a little secret… this is a beach that very few people know about, which means it is never overcrowded like the other beaches in July and August. It is a little cove that is just past the “Segunda Caleta” (second little cove past Cala Blanca) and you can get there by foot via a hiking trail in 5 to 10 minutes. The trail starts in a little street by the Cala Blanca lookout, to the right there is fencing with a metal door. Although it looks private, this door is the entrance to this little paradise. Make sure you visit it, once you get there it is well worth the effort!
2. LA GRANADELLA
Sea and mountain, mountain and sea… The Granadella is one of the town’s treasures. It is 160 meters long and is perfect for scuba diving and snorkelling, due to its beautiful sea life. This year, access by car has been restricted, but there is a free bus that runs every 20 minutes. From the Granadella, there is also a hiking trail to the Granadella Castle, perfect to visit any time of year and enjoy the nature and wonderful views.
3. CALA SARDINERA (SARDINERA COVE)
Another Mediterranean treasure, Sardinera Cove. Most people have heard of this beach because many boats anchor there to spend the day. But we assure you that you can also get there by foot, and it is a great way to get in touch with nature. You get there via a hiking trail that starts past the Portixol Cross lookout, following the signs for 10 to 15 minutes. We advise that you to wear trainers on your way down, as it is a hiking trail along the mountain. Once you get to the beach, you just take off your trainers, put on your snorkelling goggles, and enjoy!!
4. LA BARRACA O CALA DEL PORTITXOL (THE BARRACA, OR PORTITXOL COVE)
The Portitxol Island overlooks this beautiful beach, and its main feature is the beautiful white former fishermen’s houses that run along the cove. Mountain, Mediterranean flora and crystal clear waters form this beautiful landscape. Together with the Granadella, this is one of the best places to do snorkelling or go kayaking and explore the surroundings of the Barraca.
